IBEW local union membership panel, 2010-2025: replication dataset for two studies of inside electrical construction

This record is the data : an annual panel of reported membership for local unions of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, 2010 to 2025, built from Form LM-2, LM-3 and LM-4 filings to the U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Labor-Management Standards, together with every script that builds or analyses it, the agency extracts underneath it, the classification inputs, the retrieved sources and every log the companion manuscripts cite.

The released panel and its codebook sit loose at the top level, beside LM2_CLASSIFICATION_ERROR_2026-09-20.md , which records a treatment-classification defect found on 20 September 2026 and its cost on every specification. Five archives carry the rest: data_olms.zip (the sixteen OLMS Yearly Data Download extracts, the only source of every membership figure), data_classification.zip (both IBEW jurisdictional-map roster vintages, the hyperscale campus file, the CBRE market list, the OMB July 2023 delineations and every raw Census Geocoder response), sources.zip , code.zip (30 scripts) and outputs.zip (61 logs, JSON, CSV and figures). README.md gives the run order step by step and states honestly which one step cannot be run from this package and why.
Reproduction. Tested 20 September 2026 by deleting every shipped output and rebuilding from the shipped inputs. Everything reproduces byte-identically except unionstats_msa_long.csv , whose source workbooks are not redistributable, and one log line that echoes its invoking command. Five environment switches reproduce superseded specifications rather than only describing them.
Licence. The panel, codebook and code are CC BY 4.0. Retrieved third-party sources are redistributed only where their own terms permit it and README.md names the terms for each. The Union Membership and Coverage Database workbooks are not redistributed; the figures derived from them ship, the extraction scripts ship, and the database is cited to its publishers.
